Johnson Yu, Chairman of the Board
Johnson Yu is the founder and chairman of Prudent Energy Inc. and the vice chairman of China New Energy Chamber of Commerce (CNECC). Prior to the founding of Prudent Energy, Mr. Yu was the co-founder of V2 Technology Inc., a software developer specialising in advanced on-line real time voice, video and data communications. In 2003, V2 Technology became China’s biggest developer in video conferencing software
Mr. Yu holds an MBA degree from Pepperdine University and a BS degree in EE from Tsinghua University. In 2010, Mr. Yu was selected by the Municipality Government of Beijing as “distinguished entrepreneur”, he was further accredited as one of the top 1000 global experts in China under the “1000plan” organized by the central government of China.
Hope Chen, Director
Hope Chen is an Executive Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson and the Head of DFJ China. Hope has 15 years of operational experience in internet and IT industry. She was Founder and co-CEO of Billpoint, Inc., which pioneered the concept of online person to person payments. Billpoint became the leading provider of person to person payment services on the Internet and was acquired by eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) in 1999 as a payment solution for their online auction marketplace. Prior to Billpoint, Ms. Chen was Chief Information Officer of GE Nuclear, a $1 Billion division of GE Power Systems, where she managed the IT infrastructure for the organization and implemented large scale enterprise systems. Hope currently serves on the Boards of Prudent Energy, Ku6.com(NASDAQ: HRAY), PPLive, Mtime, Quick Care, Mazon, SPSCAP, and as Board Advisor for Allyes (acquired by Focus Media NASDAQ: FMCN), and Pixoart (acquired by 51.com). Hope received her BA in both Computer Science and Philosophy from Wellesley College. She received her MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Xi Yang, Director
Xi Yang joined Draper Fisher Jurvetson in May 08, where his primary area of interest is clean tech related investment opportunities. Mr. Yang led the investment into Prudent Energy, SPSCAP and REenergy Electric. Mr. Yang currently serves as Board Director on the boards of Prudent Energy and SPSCAP.
Prior to joining DFJ, Mr. Yang served as an Investment Manager in the PE arm of Mitsubishi Corporation, where he is in charge of late-stage investments in consumer and advanced manufacturing industries. Before Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr. Yang worked in Legend Capital with focus on early-stage investments in outsourcing, digital content and semi-conductor industries. He led a series of investments into related areas, like Virtuos Games, Crystal CG, New Vision Microelectronics and Fullhan Microelectronics.
Mr. Yang received his BS in Systems Theory from Beijing Normal University and received his Master degree in Management Science from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University.
Will Chen, Director
Will is a Managing Director of DT Capital Partners. Will was previously Founder and CEO of Accelergy Corporation, an R&D technology company that develops advanced materials for alternative energy applications with operations in the US and Shanghai, China. Prior to Accelergy, Will was Founder and CEO of OnePage, Inc. an enterprise software company that developed a suite of portal products and management tools for the corporate market. OnePage was acquired by Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY) in 2002 and its technology infrastructure is the platform for the Sybase Enterprise Portal.
Before starting OnePage, Will was one of the Founders of Billpoint, Inc., which pioneered the concept of online person to person payments. He has also been in management positions for Excite and Classifieds2000 (acquired by Excite in 1998), Andersen Consulting Strategic Services (Accenture), and IBM.
Will received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a B.S. Business from University of Florida.
Will serves on the Harvard Business School Alumni Board, was selected as a 2006 Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow, and received the 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the University of Florida. Will is past Chairman and President of the AAMA (Asia America Multi Technology Association), an Executive Committee Member of Shanghai YPO (Young President's Organization), Advisor to the Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida College of Business, and Board Director of Harvard Business School Asian American Alumni Association.
Shuhua Zhou, Director
Shuhua joined NLVC in 2006 as a Managing Director with over 14 years of industry experience in China at prominent TMT and multinational enterprises. Prior to NLVC, Robert served as the Vice President of China's leading online portal, Sina (NASDAQ: SINA). Over the last 6 years in Sina, he has successfully managed the Search and Sina.net teams. Shuhua had orchestrated key co-operations with Google and EachNet (an eBay subsidiary). Prior to Sina, he was a Manager at Apple Computer in China and was responsible for new product launches, and market development. Shuhua also managed sales and marketing at the American Standard Group, Philips, and Orient Electrical Group for many years.
Shuhua holds a BS degree in Business Management from Xi'an University of Technology, a Graduate degree in Computer Applications from the University of Science and Technology of China, and a master degree in Management from Stanford Business School.
Jason Jiang, Director
Jason Nanchun Jiang, the founder of Focus Media, has served as the chairman of Focus Media's board of directors and the chief executive officer since May 2003. From 1994 to 2003, Mr. Jiang was the chief executive officer of Everease Advertising Corporation, which is one of the top 50 advertising agencies in China. Starting in 2003, Mr. Jiang was general manager of Aiqi Advertising, an advertising company founded by his immediate family members in 1997 which was renamed Focus Media Advertising in May 2003 in connection with the establishment of our current business operations. In December 2003, Mr. Jiang was selected by China News Publisher's Media magazine as one of the "Media People of the Year". In September 2003, Mr. Jiang was selected by the Television and Newspaper Committees of the China Advertising Commission as one of its "contemporary outstanding advertising media personalities". Mr. Jiang received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese language and literature from Huadong Normal University in 1995.
Dr. Xiaozhi Liu, Senior Advisor
Dr. Xiaozhi Liu obtained PhD of Engineering in Technical University of Erlangen, Germany. In the early 1990s, Liu successfully took charge of establishing four GM's vehicle parts JVs as the Director of Sales and Marketing, and then served as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Engineer for GM Greater China, Chairman & CEO of GM Taiwan. In 2004, Dr. Liu was responsible formulating overall strategy for vehicle electronics, control and software integration for GM Worldwide located in Detroit USA. From 2005 to 2006 she was Vice Chairman and CEO of Fuyao Glass Industrial Group and acting CEO supporting an automotive component company. Currently, Dr. Liu focuses on Energy, Environment, Electronics and Technology, providing value added supports in capacity expansion, efficiency improvement, restructuring, merging and acquisition, financing for Chinese companies. With strong technical background and rich management experience accumulated over 25 years, she is striving to support Prudent Energy's long-term development and realize globalization.
