15kW x 8hr (120kWh) VRB-ESS; wind application

In June 2006, Risø National Laboratory in Denmark (“Risø”) purchased a 15kW x 8hr (120kWh) VRB-ESS™. Risø conducts research on new technologies that can create opportunities for Danish Society and industry, with a strong focus on technologies with a positive environmental impact as well as technologies related to energy generation. In a project supported by Energinet.dk and the Danish Transmission System Operator, the system will be evaluated for use both grid-connected and grid-independent applications that use wind as the primary generation source.

This system has operated continuously for nearly 2 year. It has being upgraded for further off-grid-RAPS testing. Several reports have been published, those are available on request.
